Welcome Arcadian
furniture manufactures freestanding and fitted furniture to
commission and provides a comprehensive furniture restoration
service.
The business was established by Andy Pope in September 2000.
Andy attended the City & Guilds Furniture Studies course
at City of Bristol College in 1995. After that, he worked for
several Bristol based furniture manufacturers/restorers, building
on his skills, knowledge and experience, until he began to work
for himself as Arcadian Furniture.
From a rural workshop on the outskirts of Bristol Andy is able
to service a wide area around Bristol and Bath, as well as projects
further-a-field.
In addition to commissioned pieces Andy produces high quality
pieces of his own, which combine traditional craftsmanship with
contemporary design, techniques and machinery. He chooses to
work in native hardwoods, where figure in the grain works well
in juxtaposition with the clean lines of his designs.
Past commissions have included: tables, chairs cupboards, bookshelves,
wardrobes, study areas, display cases, and bathroom furniture,
whilst the restoration service tackles anything from re-glueing
joints and repairing damaged veneers, to French polishing, replacing
desk leather and insurance work.
